Itinerary:
Tentative meeting location will be at the Petro Canada, located on Hwy 1, at the junction of Hwy 22 (to Cochrane), at 9am on Friday. We'll arrange carpooling and drive to Peyto Lake. We'll all ski up to Peyto Hut and kill some time in the late afternoon practicing avi rescue &/or crevasse rescue. Saturday morning we'll begin with an Alpine start (3-4am 'ish) and head towards North Rhondda. I expect this to be a full Alpine trip and crampons and ice axes will be required. Depending on how Saturday turned out and how the group is feeling, Sunday we can get up early again and try for another close by peak such as Baker and then head out to the cars parked at Peyto Lake and back to Calgary later Sunday evening.
Required Items to Bring:
This will be a full alpine ski mountaineering trip. Therefore some of the necessities will be; the usual avi gear (beacon, probe & shovel), crampons that can attach to your ski boots, mountaineering axe and possibly one ice tool, head lamp, down jacket, AT or telemark ski gear (boots, poles, skins), harness, 3 locking beaners, 2 identical non-locking beaners, 2 - 7mm thick prusiks and 1 ice screw (1 pulley optional). (I'll send out a full list later)

Recommended Items to Bring:
min. 50 L pack, hut booties, thermos, ski goggles, extra gloves/mits, sun glasses, camera, "beverages"

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Will discuss further with team selected.
Carpool Departure Time:   09:15 AM
Carpool Location:   Petro Canada on Hwy 1/Hwy 22
Carpool Directions:   We will discuss who is willing to carpool closer to the date of the trip.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
