Intro to Ice Leading by Sean Isaac
There is a big difference between top-roping ice and leading ice. This one-day clinic will introduce fledgling ice climbers to the basics of efficient and safe leading. This course is focused on ice climbers who have top-roped and followed ice but are wanting to start leading, or ice climbers that have some experience leading but require refinement. Topics covered will include: movement skills, resting stances, racking, placing ice screws, anchor construction, leading strategies and belaying a second with an auto-block device.
Cost $100 (cheques to be made out to "Alpine Club of Canada Calgary Section" or "ACC Calgary Section". Max.6 participants.
