Itinerary: |
Meet at a yet TBD parking lot in K - Country to
practice our beacon searches, probing and digging technique.
The intention of the trip is to do a shakedown and see if our gear is
still working properly before going on a proper ski tour. If we have
new gear, give it a try without committing to going a great distance
from the car.
We can discuss what to pack for a hut trip vs a day trip as well as
what to bring on a winter camping trip. So bring lots of warm
clothing and hot tea!
Maybe you have a significant other, a friend or family member who
keeps "saying" they want to get into backcountry skiing, well here is
their chance to simply get out and play with all the toys before
actually committing to a full day of ski touring!

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
