Depart car pool Saturday at 7AM. Drive to about 12km north of the Icefields Centre. Cross the Sunwapta river and hike to the bivy site (4-5 hours). Wake at 2AM on Sunday for a 3AM departure. The "normal" route: up the SE face of Diadem, summit Diadem, cross the Woolley-Diadem col to Woolley, summit Woolley, back to the col and down the South Ridge route. Should be able to hike back to the car Sunday afternoon.
Note that the trip coordinator has not done this route. Please indicate your experience and level of fitness - in particular with steep gully ascents and scrambly downclimbs.
Hazards we need to consider/manage include the very cold and potentially deep/swift river crossing, crevasses, avalanches (if the freeze is weak or we're slow), and exposure to serac and rockfall on the descent.
