Itinerary:
We will be doing a mid-week scramble to the top of Opal ridge, heading up from Fortress Station along Hwy 40 to gain 1,000 vertical meters to the summit at 2,600 meters asl. It will be a reasonably fast paced scramble with a few optional places where we can climb small cliff bands (can be avoided) The route should be dry at this time, with perhaps a few small snow remnants near the top. A good scramble to excercise your legs and get in shape for the summer climbs. We plan to make this a short day out and hope to be back in town by 2:30 pm
Required Items to Bring:
good scrambling boots, layered clothing, sun glasses & sun screen first aid kit, enough food and drink

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
