Itinerary:
Plan A is to climb Moonlight and/or Snowline at Evan-Thomas Creek in Kananaskis. Both routes are rated WI 4 and are 100-110 m in length. Plan B is to do ice and/or mixed climbing at King Creek. Particpants must have completed an AST 1 course and be able to offer a safe belay. Preference will be given to experienced climbers with demonstrated ability and willingness to lead WI 4 multipitch routes. Preference will also be given to those with emergency rescue training (e.g., escaping the belay, raising and lowering an injured climber, tandem rappels).
Required Items to Bring:
Ice tools, crampons, climbing boots, gloves suitable for lead ice climbing, belay gloves, harness, helmet, autoblocking belay device, 4 locking carainers, 2 6-7mm cordelletes, 1 anchor package, avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, water, food, warm clothing, gas money

Recommended Items to Bring:
Ice screws, v-thread hooker and material, nuts, pitons, draws, ropes

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Take Highway 40 south to the Evan-Thomas Creek parking lot (16 km south of the Barrier Lake Visitor Centre on the east side of Highway 40)

Carpool Directions:   Take a Sarcee Tr north to 34 Ave. Take a left at 34 Ave and turn left into the parking lot.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
