Itinerary:
Rock Rescue A full day outdoor course of interest to all climbers.Topics to be covered include tying off a belay,reversing an autoblock belay device safely,lowering,transferring the load,basic raising systems and discussion of scenario options-looking at the big picture.An evening of review to practice tying off a belay and simple anchor systems will be held prior to the course. Instructor - Jeremy Mackenzie cost: $ 61.25 dates: May 17 (6 participants), May 18 (6 participants) mandatory skills review evening - May 16 to register,contact Gerry Drotar 280-7281 or gerrydrotar@hotmail.com "A reminder to trip leaders, Calgary Section Members who take a mountain skills and/or first aid course and, six months before or after the completion of the course, lead a trip for the Calgary Section, can apply for a subsidy under this program. *Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
